GS1 DataBar
GS1 DataBar™ (formerly RSS) symbols can identify small items and carry more information than the current EAN/UPC bar code.

GS1 DataBar will enable GTIN (pronounced Gee Tin) identification for hard-to-mark products like fruits and vegetables and can carry GS1 Application Identifiers such as serial numbers,
lot numbers, and expiration dates, creating solutions to support product authentication and traceability for fresh variable measure products and couponing.

GS1 DataBar’s are available on any produce label.  You will need to have obtained a GS1 company prefix from your local GS1 Member Organization.  Go to www.gs1.org for more details.  You will also need to have created your item number.

The GS1 DataBar will consist of your company prefix and item number.  This will allow the retailer to identify the grower and item by scanning the label.

We can create the bar code structure for you with your company code and item number.  We can also create an attractive label that incorporates the DataBar, COOL information, PLU number, and your company information and/ or logo.
